So here lies my question... my buddy Brians uncle ownes a gravel pit which has grown into some awesome fishing. Ever spring we have seen 30+ ducks and you can tell some of them are offspring. I think they might actually be nesting around the pond but come fall there is nothing around. Why is this?

well it could be a factor of thing's,doe's it get cold there in the fall an does the pond freeze.the bird's will try to keep it open for as long as they can.but have to find open water.say there's 30 duck's there.duck season open's-bird's will leave to go find food or stage at other spot's.in there flight 8 get shot by hunter's.that evening they return to roost less duck's keeping water open.find food source an open water or spring's you will find duck's. see-ya steve
